Newington Energy LLC (“NEL”) is a 525 megawatt, combined-cycle, dual-fuel merchant facility located in Newington, New Hampshire, just north of the city of Portsmouth. The NEL facility consists of two GE 7 FA combustion turbines with two heat recovery steam generators with supplemental firing and one steam turbine in combined-cycle configuration. The facility has low NOx burners and selective catalytic reduction for emissions control.
CED’s Asset Management group actively manages the NEL project, while daily operations and maintenance activities are outsourced to a third party provider.
NEL’s power is marketed by CED’s affiliate, Con Edison Energy, on a merchant basis predominantly into the New England Power Pool. Con Edison Energy also procures fuel for the facility. |
